This lady had been represented by a national firm of solicitors following an accident at work in 2007. Despite developing a chronic pain condition, her solicitors failed to obtain evidence from an expert in chronic pain, instead obtaining a report from an inappropriate medical consultant who advised that “I can find no good reason why she has these symptoms. One can only assume that they are psychosomatic in origin.”
Despite the fact that she had been unable to work since the accident, they recommended seeking a settlement offer “in the region of £5,000”.
After obtaining more appropriate evidence and properly valuing her claim, BLB Solicitors settled her claim for £96,000.
